| Agreement
with Government of Sri
Lanka : Although Project Sri Lanka signed several agreements
with GOSL on projects the only project to progress has
been the reconstruction project for the school damaged
by the December 2004 Tsunami. Hence PSL will focus on
this project during 2006 /2007

| Although
PSL signed an MOU with the Ministry of Education
for the reconstruction / repair of Anula Devi MV, in February
2005, for a value of SL
Rs 44 Million ( Approx US$ 440,000), during detailed
investigations, it was found that the school requires
complete re-locations due to the proximity to
the sea ( within the exclusion zone defined by
the government) and the ever expanding needs of
the school ( which not be accommodated in the
existing location) .Hence the scope of the project increased
several fold from PSL’s
original plans. However, it is observed
that the project has great potential to positively
impact the community and hence PSL decided to
go ahead with the expanded scope

Master Plan and Definition of Phases |

Based
on the Land Allocation received from the Government
of Sri Lanka,
the following Master Plan for the school has been
derived
The
following changes have been incorporated to the
Master Plan a. The IT Unit has been
incorporated into both Lower and Upper School
Buildings
b. The existing House (
building coloured in
Green) will be used as the main administrative
building and Library
The above master plan and
future possibilities have been incorporated into
phases of construction as defined below
Mandatory Phases
1. Building of the Primary School Blocks ( to house Grade 1 –
5 : approx. 800 students)
2. Building of the Upper School Blocks ( to house Grade 6 –
11 : approx. 960 students)
3. Building of Gymnasium and Aesthetics unit
Optional phases
(dependant on funding and land area)
4. Building of Upper
School A/L Block ( to house Grade 12 –
13 : approx 350 students
5. Building of Student
Hostel ( to house 50 students of age11 years upwards)

Phase 1
Construction
of Phase 1 commenced on 8th December
2005 and is scheduled to be completed by end May
2006.
